The last several years I have been dividing my time between my homes in the woods of Wisconsin and the jungle of Costa Rica. I have a deep connection to the land in both of these very special places. The extraordinary biodiversity of Costa Rica and the vibrant season changes of Wisconsin continue to inspire my photography.
The “Two Worlds” I reside in are profoundly different yet remarkably similar. At first glance the contrasts are striking. Costa Rica with its rain forested mountains, expansive beaches, and active volcanoes compared to Wisconsin with its changing seasons, 15,000 lakes, and northern wilderness. But look closer. Through a camera lens they are just light and shadow. Both are reflections on a placid pool of water, the orange glow from the setting sun, a rainbow from a waterfall's mist, and dew droplets on a flower petal. “Two Worlds”, one vision.
