Nature photography has been my passion since I acquired my first SLR camera some 30 years ago. Since that time I have traveled to many places on this wondrous and vast planet and my trusty camera has always been at my side. As my equipment and skills improved, my enthusiasm grew.
The last several years I have been dividing my time between my homes in the woods of Wisconsin and the jungles of Costa Rica. I have a deep connection to the land in both of these very special places. The extraordinary biodiversity of Costa Rica and the vibrant season changes of Wisconsin continue to inspire my photography.
The “Two Worlds” I reside in are profoundly different yet remarkably similar in a photographic sense. At first glance the contrasts are striking. Costa Rica with its magnificent rainforest mountains, expansive beaches, and active volcanoes compared to Wisconsin with its 15,000 lakes, changing seasons, and northern wilderness. But look closer. Through a camera lens they are just light and shadows.
They both are reflections on a placid pool of water, the orange glow from a setting sun, the rainbow from a waterfall’s mist, or the dew droplets on a flower petal. Two Worlds. One vision.
